Rosalia Humberg
Rosalia Humberg

Rosalia Humberg, née Landau, (1856 – 1937)

In 1880, Rosalia Landau moved from Ramsdorf to live with her aunt, Aleida Plaat, in Dingden, in order to help her with the housekeeping. In 1882, she married the cattle dealer and butcher, Abraham Humberg from Klein-Reken. Together, they took over the Plaat family’s butchery and draper’s shop. Rosalia Humberg was regarded as a gentle, pleasant-natured woman.

When she died in 1937, several citizens of Dingden attended her funeral despite the explicit prohibition of the local Nazi Party.
